My HAL CAL favorite: the butterflies

The hint: a movement of it can cause a storm at the other side of the world

I love butterflies. I find them so beautiful. And I like it how the change from caterpillar to butterfly is often used for the transformation of people, their behavior, their life. Without going into details I could tell you about that myself. Big steps in my life resulted in great changes.

In the hint I was talking about ‘The Butterfly Effect’. When a butterfly is flapping its wings, it could cause a storm a couple of days later elsewhere on this planet. Not really of course, but it’s a metaphor for how an action of a person could have effect on the world. A friendly word, a hug, a phonecall, it can mean so much to someone. I encourage you, especially in this season of the year, to look around you if there is someone that you can help or encourage. It could cause something so great you would never have expected.

Preview of the christmas table runner

Teaser Christmas Table RunnerI wanted to share a picture with you about the table runners I’m working on. I made 2 designs: one with a light background and one with a dark background. The version with the light background is nearly finished: only need to finish the border and finish the ends. I have to really crochet fast the next days on the version with the dark background . The patterns and the descriptions are ready already, but I actually want to have some nice pictures with it with publishing it.

These are 2 different patterns! It is not just a matter of switching the light and dark color, because the patterns will not fully come to their right (is that correct English?), so I made 2 versions.

The target date for publishing is this Saturday, so keep an eye on it. I will announce where these patterns can be purchased. There will also be a video with it about the setup, that will be released then also.

But now the butterflies

To be honest: this is my most favorite pattern of the blanket. Each pattern has its own charm, but I also had the most fun with designing this one. I also had another version, but that gave a more ‘chaotic’ effect on the back, so it became this version in the end. It is more counting again of course, but I hope the result will be totally worth it.

<Edit January 16 2019: The pattern is no longer available for free. You can buy it from my Ravelry shop (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/the-craftsteachers-ravelry-store). You can find the bonusweek pattern there also. The pictures for each part (see examples on this page here) are also available from this store: https://the-craftsman.zibbet.com/. >

Here is the link to the pattern. <removed>
